Puducherry, May 12 : Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao on Tuesday said that all government employees should compulsorily download the ‘Arogya Setu” app. Talking to news persons here, the Minister said people from Puducherry coming back from other states and foreign countries would be allowed to go home after conducting two tests on them in quarantine.
He said Chief Minister V Narayanasamy participated in the video conference held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday and detailed the requirements for Puducherry. After hearing Mr Modi's speech, it is understood that the lockdown may be extended after May 17 with some more relaxations, he added. Mr Rao said 12 days are over in the third phase of lockdown and five more days are left and added that the people should cooperate to contain the spread of COVID-19.
He also urged the people of Puducherry to be more careful and vigilant citing that the Coronavirus pandemic is spreading fast in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts of Tamil Nadu which are very close to Puducherry. The Minister also greeted all the nurses working here on the occasion of International Nurses Day today. (UNI)
