CM should stop 'drama' on CAA resolution : Saminathan

Agency News

Puducherry, Feb 14 : BJP Puducherry Unit President V Saminathan on Friday said that Chief Minister V Narayanasamy should stop his “drama” that he do not mind even if his government was dismissed for adopting a resolution in the Assembly against the Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA).

Mr Saminathan in a statement here said, Mr Narayanasamy came to power giving tall promises to the people. But the government was totally paralyzed and the people have already rejected it, he claimed. A ruling party legislator himself leveled corruption charges against the government and the Lt.Governor had also recommended to the Union government to initiate action on it. With this, the government could be dismissed any time and at this juncture he convened a special session and adopted a resolution against CAA, when not even a single person in Puducherry will be affected because of the Act, and announced that he is ready to sacrifice his government for CAA.

This need to be condemned, Mr Saminathan said, adding that the people will no longer believe him. The BJP state President said when Mr Narayanasamy was a Parliament member for 23 years and a ‘shadow prime minister’ during the period of Mr Manmohan Singh, he did nothing for Puducherry. On the other hand, people were put to hardships levying heavy taxes and now trying to introduce casinos which will spoil Puducherry.

The Chief Minister should stop forthwith his ‘drama’ by blaming the Central government, Lt.Governor and on CAA, Mr Saminathan said and added that the people of Puducherry are not ‘fools’ to sympathize for the dismissal of an 'expired' government. If he failed to stop this ‘drama’, the Congress will meet with the same fate like in Delhi Assembly election where the party lost deposits, he added. (UNI)
