Cong Candidate elected from Kamaraj Nagar Assembly Constituency

Puducherry, Oct 24 : Congress candidate A John Kumar was declared elected from Kamaraj Nagar assembly constituency in the by-election held on October 21.

Mr Kumar defeated his immediate N R Congress rival Bhuvaneswaran by a margin of 7170 votes, official sources said.

While, the Congress Candidate secured 14,782 votes of the total 24,310 votes polled, Mr Bhuvaneswaran ended up with 7,612 votes.

The other candidares who secured three digit votes were S.Govindaraj (All India Makkal Kazhagam) 121, M Praveena(Naam Thamizhar Katchi) 620, Lenin Durai (SUCI-Communist) 294, S Vetrichelvan (Ind) 343. About 426 votes polled as NOTA .

Kamaraj Nagar Assembly constituency is having a voter strength of 35,009.
