Puducherry, Oct 10 : Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Thursday said that the Opposition NR Congress and AIADMK will lose their base in the Union Territory after the bypoll to Kamaraj Assembly Constituency here.
On the side lines of the election campaign for the October 21 bypoll, Mr Narayanasamy said that both the parties had fallen into a deep pit following their alliance with the BJP.
He said NR Congress and AIADMK did not have unity in their views and when NR Congress president N Rangaswamy was canvassing for the party candidate claiming that the government will fall, AIADMK leader Anbazhagan said the party will not indulge in toppling the government.
On the allegation of Rangaswamy that this was a forced by-poll on the people, he said the NR Congress president had contested Indira Nagar and Kadirgamam constituencies in the 2011 election. He retained Kadirgamam and resigned Indira Nagar. Narayanasamy wondered whether that was not a forced by-poll. (UNI)
