Puducherry, Oct 1 : AIADMK Legislature Party leader A Anbazhagan on Tuesday urged Chief Minister V Narayanasamy to take immediate steps to curb the menace of Dengue fever here.
In a Whatsapp statement, Mr Anbazhagan alleged that the Chief Minister and his Cabinet Colleagues were not concerned about the welfare of people and are concentrating on the Kamaraj Nagar assembly by-election. With rain started, there was water-logging in several areas. However, the departments which need to take steps to prevent mosquito breeding is not taking any steps in this direction, he said.
He said Dengue fever is fast spreading here and the health department had failed to initiate any steps to arrange specialists to treat them or arranging special wards for them.
Even lab facilities were not arranged in Primary Health Centers here. The Chief Minister failed to convene a high level meeting to discuss the important issue, he pointed out and added it is not known whether the Vector Control Research Centre (VCRC) is functioning or not.
Mr Anbazhagan said Mr Narayanasamy, who announced that DMK President M K Stalin and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will come for election campaign for the Kamaraj Nagar by-election here should think about the peoples' sufferings and take steps to provide proper treatment to the Dengue affected people.(UNI)
