Puducherry, Sep 25 : Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi on Wednesday called upon the voters of the Kamaraj Nagar assembly constituency which goes to bypoll on October 21 to exercise their franchise without fear or favour.
According to a release from the Lt.Governor’s secretariat, as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the byelection was in force, the direct hearing of public grievance, open house, visitor’s hour, field visits and other official engagements in Raj Nivas stands suspended till the election process is over.
During this period, grievances will be heard and addressed directly by officers of the government departments as per existing system.
Petitions received by hand or post at the Rajnivas will be acknowledged and forwarded to the concerned government departments for disposal as per law and tracked for results. All social media handles of the office of the Lt.Governor will be remain suspended during the MCC period, the release said.(UNI)
