Puducherry, Sep 2 : Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Monday said that the appointment of RSS and BJP members as the governors of states is against Indian democracy.
Mr Narayanasamy was referring to the appointment of five new governors in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Telangana and Kerala.
Addressing the media after offering prayers at Manakkula Vinayagar temple here on the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi, the Chief Minister said that these appointments are also against the Sarkaria Commission recommendations.
Set up in 1983 by the then central government of India, the Sarkaria Commission's charter was to examine the central-state relationship on various portfolios and suggest changes within the framework of the Constitution of India.
"These governors will function as a 'puppet' in the hands of BJP," he charged.
The Chief Minister also greeted the people on the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi.
