Puducherry, Jul 6 : The State Planning Board Meeting Chaired by Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi came to an abrupt end following walkout by invitees on Saturday.
AIADMK Rajya Sabha member Gokula Krishnan came to the meeting venue a bit late and questioned about the failure to invite legislature party leaders.He said they were invited for the meeting last year and were not invited this year even though they were prepared to attend the meeting.Mr Krishnan said that he does not want to take part in the meeting and staged a walk out.
Immediately, Welfare minister M Kandasamy, who spoke said that it is not fair to conduct the meeting without inviting the Leader of the Opposition and legislature party leaders and asked who is responsible for this.Chief Minister V Narayanasamy who intervened said that he sent a file to the Raj Nivas listing the names of those to be invited for the meeting. But there was no response from the Raj Nivas, he added.
Stating that it is the Chief Minister who has to answer the queries of the members in the assembly, and hence, Mr Narayanasamy said, he is staging a walk out.His Cabinet Colleagues, Legislators and Lok Sabha member V Vaithilingam followed suit.(UNI)
