Puducherry, Jun 20: Bharatiya Janata Party State President V Saminathan on Thursday charged that the Congress government in the Union Territory is not implementing centrally sponsored schemes here.
Inaugurating a party office at Ariyankuppam constituency here, Mr Saminathan said for instance the central government scheme of “Ayushman Bharath” was implemented in all the states. However, the government had failed to implement the same till date depriving the poor their right for proper treatment.
If the scheme was implemented, the poor patients here could get a cover for Rs.5 lakh a year and avail Super Specialty treatment with it.
He said the BJP has started to collect applications from the public seeking to implement the scheme here and submitting it to the Health Department. More than 5,000 applications were collected from Lawspet constituency and submitted to the health department, Mr Saminathan said.
The BJP MLA called upon the party volunteers to collect applications from Ariyankuppam constituency and later from all constituencies here to submit to the health department which would force the government to implement the same here.
He also exhorted the party volunteers to strive hard for the implementation of all other central government schemes here for the benefit of the people which would help the BJP to win the 2021 assembly election in the UT.
