Puducherry, Mar 28 : The Puducherry unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday urged the National Commission for Women to initiate action against DMK leader Najil Sambath for making derogatory remarks against Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi.
In a complaint forwarded to the National Women’s Commission BJP general secretary Ravichandran said Mr Sambath, while canvassing at Thavalakuppam nearby, used unparliamentary and abusive words against the Lt Governor, while she was campaigning for Congress for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections here.
Mr Ravichandran demanded immediate action against Mr Sambath for not following the code of conduct of elections. He also sent a video of accused’s speech.
Mr Ravichandran also forwarded the complaint to Puducherry chief electoral officer Dr Candavelou, District Election officer T Arun and D G P Sundarai Nanda with video evidence.
