Puducherry, Mar 1 : Workers of the now defunct AFT mills here on Friday burnt xerox copies of their ration card, Aadhaar card and voters ID card in front of the mill to protest against the failure of the government to disburse their salary for the past seven months.

According to the workers, they could not pull on without salary as they need to pay house rent and tuition fees for their children. Five of them allegedly committed suicide as they found no ways to pull on.

AIADMK trade union leader Chinnadurai told news persons that since, this government came to power they had failed to resolve the issues of the people and the AFT workers will have to get seven months salary.

As such, the workers will boycott the next Lok Sabha election and also would campaign among the people to boycott the poll. (UNI)
