Covid 19 tally in Odisha rises to 2478 with fresh 90 positive cases

Bhubaneswar, Jun 4 : The covid 19 cases went up to 2478 in Odisha today with 90 positive cases reported from 13 districts . Official sources said out of 90 cases, as many as 79 were reported from the quarantine centres and the rest eleven are local cases. The local cases in the state have been rising over the past few days causing concern over the possibility of community transmission. During the last three days 53 local cases have been reported in the state .

The government, however, denied that there has been any community transmission in the state and attributed all the local cases as contacts from the quarantine centres.They included some covid warriors engaged in the quarantine centres. Sources said out of 90 positive cases reported in the state , a maximum of 25 cases were from Khordha district,followed by Ganjam (22),Dhenknal(10),Bhadrak (9) ,Nayagarh (7) and five each in Cuttack and Sundargarh districts. With 22 fresh cases, the covid positive cases surpassed 500 marks in Ganjam district which has so far registered 521 cases,highest in the state followed by Jajpur ( 290), Khordha ( 195), Balasore (179), Kendrapara (161), Bhadrak (132), Cuttack(131) and Bolangir ( 103) cases.

Covid 19 has infected all the 30 districts in the state but eight districts have maximum cases,all reporting over hundred cases and together accounted for over 67.9 per cent of the total cases in the state. Official sources said out of 1,59,567 samples tested so far, 2478 reported positive, 1053 active cases,1416 recovered and nine succumbed to death,seven of whom due to covid 19. All the Public Parks of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd. (BSCL) within the jurisdiction of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation area will be now open in all days (except during shutdown days on Saturdays and Sundays of June 2020) from 5AM to 10AM in the morning and from 4PM to 6PM in the evening.

The park timing slot of 5 AM to 7 AM will be exclusively for the elderly age group citizens of 60 years old and above. During this time other age group people are not allowed. Similarly, elderly citizens of 60 years and above will not be allowed inside the parks beyond their allotted slot time.An order to this effect has been issued by BMC Commissioner. (UNI)
