Bhubaneswar, May 23 : Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan today said Odisha has successfully managed the cyclone and has opened new avenues of investment. Chairing an interactive meeting held between central and state government departments through video conferencing Mr Pradhan said Odisha has taken remarkable initiatives for making the State an investment destination.
Successful management of cyclones in Odisha itself has opened new avenues of investment. The State is now ready for the next higher level of industrial development in post-covid scenario. He advised the Central Government and State departments to work at tandem both over the ongoing and upcoming proposals through different sectoral meetings. Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy assured a hassle free business eco-system for the investors along with expeditious grounding of the projects. He said the state has set higher growth trajectories for development of industrial infrastructure.
Sectoral Industrial parks with delineated land banks are in ‘ready to move’ condition for the investors,the Chief Secretary said adding that “We need to develop more infrastructure and industrial townships around the industrial clusters," he said. Outlining the competitive advantage of Odisha as investment destination, , Industry Secretary Hemant Sharma said, “Along with strategic coastal location, major ports and mineral deposit, State has developed an industry-ready land bank of 505 sq kms in different locations. Being a power surplus State with 17,600 MW of production, Odisha assures quality power supply to investors. There is also a natural gas pipeline network across the State. Single window clearance system with its robust online Go Swift portal ensures timely delivery of various support services to the investors.
Mr.Sharma said He said the State has also abundant availability of skilled manpower in postcovid scenario. and briefed the policy frameworks for promotion of industries in different sectors like mining and metals, petro-chemicals, chemicals and plastics, textiles and apparel, IT, ITes and electronics manufacturing food processing and tourism.
The proposals for facilitating FDI in focus sectors, participation of Odisha in all industry promotion initiatives and inclusion of Odisha Economic Corridor under Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) were discussed in the meeting. (UNI)
