Bhubaneswar, May 12 : Odisha government will soon formulate a new industrial policy, Minister for Industries Divya Shankar Mishra said here today. Speaking at a national e-conference organised by the Odisha chapter of Indian Chamber of Commerce, Mr Mishra said since the industrial sector has undergone a number of changes, the new industrial policy will be formulated to suit the interest of industrial houses, manufacturers, consumers and the suppliers of raw materials.
The Minister hoped that rich deposits of minerals, availability of huge Human Resource’s, and infrastructure can create more opportunities for industries in the state. Speaking on the theme “Challenge and opportunities in Odisha in the Food processing sector and roads ahead”, the Minister said a stable economic policy is required for the smooth management of the industrial sector.
He said Industry secretary Hemanta Sharma sought the views of various business establishments and organisations to strengthen the industrial sector. At the conference Keventor Agro Ltd CEO Sunil Kajaria announced that the company would set up a banana processing unit in Odisha in next five to six months. (UNI)
