Bhubaneswar, Apr 12: Four more covid 19 positive cases reported in Odisha taking the total tally to 54 so far.
The health and family welfare department in its website confirmed last night that four more coronavirus positive cases were reported but did not give the details of the patient and the travel history if any.
The sources said so far 3551 samples have been tested in the state and out of which 3497 samples have been tested negative.
The state government claimed that so far 12 positive cases have been recovered and tested negative while one casualty has been reported so far from the state. Odisha has now 41 active cases under treatment at various Covid hospitals in the state.
Director of National Health Mission Shalini Paundit yesterday claimed that out of 37 active cases as many as 35 cases have no symptoms of covid 19 while two required hospital care.
But with the detection of four more cases the active cases in the state now went up to 41. Although the Family and Welfare Department did not divulge the details of the four
new cases reported in the state, the Sundargrh Collector has stated that two positive cases reported form Bisra area of the district.
The authority had sealed as many as five places in Bisra as a preventive measures to check further spread of the dreaded virus and started contact tracing.
The covid 19 which was so far confined to eight of the 30 districts in the state, has now spread to another district Sundargarh in Western Odisha taking the total nine
districts under its grip.
Earlier, Kalahandi district in Western Odisha had tested two positive cases. Besides Kalahandi and Sundargarh ,the other districts in odisha reported positive so far are Khordha, Bhadrak, Cuttack,Jajpur, Puri, Kendrapara and Dhenkanal. (UNI)
