Naveen declares complete lock down of five districts and eight towns in Odisha till March 29

Bhubaneswar, Mar 21 : In a major decision Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today declared complete lock down of five districts and eight major towns in the state from tomorrow till March 29 next. In a statement here, Mr Patnaik said time has come for us to take the extraordinary step and sacrifice, to protect our State and our people.

He said, “We have more than 3000 people who have returned from foreign countries.They are advised for home quarantine”. A majority of them, Mr Patnaik said belong to the Districts of Khurdha, Cuttack, Ganjam, Kendrapada, Angul, the towns of Puri, Rourkela ,Sambalpur,J harsuguda ,Balasore,Jajpur road Jajpur town and Bhadrak. These are the districts where more than 70 per cent of the total 3200 foreign returnees belong to, Mr Patnaik said and announced in the first phase, “ we are going for a near complete lock down in all these areas from 7 am tomorrow till 9 pm of March 29.
