Bhubaneswar, Jun 18 : Odisha government today signed an MoU with AIIMS, Bhubaneswar to provide free health care services to the poor people under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.Health and Family welfare department signed the agreement with AIIMS, Bhubaneswar in the presence of state Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das.Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana on August 15, 2018.

As many as 196 private hospitals were roped in to provide health services to the patients under the scheme. AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Joined the scheme today.The Minister directed the Private hospital enlisted under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana to submit a report relating to the service offered by them to the government every month stating the number of people they treated and the disease.

A review meeting held under the Chairmanship of the Minister today decided to constitute Odisha Cancer Care Foundation to provide better health care to cancer patients.The Health Minister directed the officials to expedite the construction work of the Apex cancer centre to come up at Barang. The meeting also decided to start the expansion work of the Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital.
