Nabarangpur, Apr 06 : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today assured that not a single farmer would be deprived of the KALIA scheme launched by his government for the betterment of farmers.
Addressing an election meeting here Mr Patnaik said about 40 lakh farmers have been benefited from the scheme and assured that his government will transfer Rs 10,000 into bank accounts of 25 lakh beneficiaries of the scheme towards two installments the day he assumes the next government.
Not a single farmer will be deprived of the benefit of the scheme, he said.
Mr Patnaik had a dig at the central leaders stating that not a single of them has ever visited Nabarangpur during the last five years.
He said they have now come only to seek votes and would never come after the election.
Mr Patnaik said the central government has not kept its promises to lay a railway line for Nabaragpur.
He urged the people to ask the central government to explain why the KBK yojana, scholarship of SC/ST students and crop insurance for farmers were stopped .
The BJD supremo appealed to the people to vote for his party both for the Assembly and the Lok Sabha elections and said he would serve the people till his last breath and sought the blessings of the people. (UNI)
