Bhawanipatna, Apr 02 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dubbed the Congress and the BJD as 'anti-poor' who used the poor as their vote bank in every election and betrayed them after the elections.

The Congress and the BJD had hatched a conspiracy to keep the poor as poor, Mr Modi said while addressing the Bikas Sankalap Rally at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district. Mr Modi, who is visiting the state for the second time in last five days, tweeted before arriving at Bhawanipatna stating that “Odisha has something special which attracts me to the state again and again.”

Mr Modi had addressed an election rally at Jeyore in Koraput district on March 29 last. The prime minister said “You have brought this pradhan sevak five years back and since then I have not taken leave for a single day and utilised every moment to serve the country, tried to solve the problem and bring a change .

' And all these were possible because you all had given me the confidence,' Mr Modi said adding that ' whatever I had achieved is because of your blessings and all the credit goes to the people of the country.'

The PM slammed the Naveen Patnaik government for shielding the mining mafias and those involved in the chit fund scam and asked the voters to decide whether they want ' a government who promotes the mining mafia and chit fund scam or a chowkidar who had protected the poor.'

Citing his achievement in weeding out corruption in the public distribution system,Mr Modi said his government has saved Rs.1.10 lakh crore which had been pocketed by eight crore middlemen from the public distribution system availing subsidies through fake ration cards.

Mr.Modi said his action had largely benefited the poor but the grand alliance partners, however, visualized it as it a threat to their existence and joined hands together to oust the BJP government from power, but , they will never be successful in their mission. (UNI)
