Bhawanipatna, Feb 06 : Congress President Rahul Gandhi today said no power can prevent or stop us in paying minimum income to all the poor people in the country.

Addressing his first rally at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district during his one day visit to odisha Mr.Gandhi had a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik accusing them of neglecting the poor and the tribals.

Mr.Modi , he said had waived loan to the tune of Rs 3.5 lakh core to his fifteen industrial friends and announced only Rs 17 per day for the farmers which the BJP was saying a historic decision.

The Congress President said, “I cannot promise Rs 15 lakh to the bank account of each individual in the country but I can assure that the Congress will provide minimum income to each and every poor of the country and the amount will be directly credited to their bank account.'

“ We will implement it if comes to power. If you have the guts prevent us and we will show it to the whole country”, he remarked.

The Congress president played an emotional card by saying that he had not come here as a political leader but as a family member since his family had old relationship with the people of Kalahandi.

He said Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh had given special attention to Kalahandi and the KBK region.

'You need special attention and special assistance because of backwardness and your district can not be compared with other districts of the state”

However, the Naveen Patnaik government and the Modi government have ignored you and rather snatched your ‘land, water and forest”. Both of them did not give due attention to the people of the region,he said.(UNI)
