Bhubaneswar, Nov 5: Odisha government has decided to present attractive handloom and handicraft items as gifts to the guests and players of the Men’s World to promote and propagate the art and culture of the state in international sphere.
The Men’s world cup Hockey tournament will be held here at the iconic Kalinga stadium from November 28 to December 16 next.
Official sources here said as many as 600 attractive Docra handicraft trophies featuring hockey stick and ball have been made to be presented to all the players of the just concluded Odisha- versus New South Wales hockey and the players participating the Men’s world cup hockey.
The trophies are being made by the Docra artisans of Mayurbhanja district.
Similarly, the winners of the World Hockey Cup would be presented with trophies of famous filigree works.
Boxes made of velvet, acrylic and 636 Lac boxes are being prepared to pack the trophies.
All players, sport stars and VIPs from outside the country would be presented with Sambalpuri stole as a mark of respect. (UNI)
