New Delhi, Jun 10 : Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal’s decision against providing COVID-19 treatment only to bona fide residents of Delhi at the state-run and private hospitals will be fully implemented.
Addressing a digital press conference here, Mr Kejriwal said, 'The Delhi government's decision to treat people living in Delhi during the corona was reversed by the central government and LG on Monday.' 'This is not the time for disagreement. The decision taken by the central government and LG, we will be fully implemented,' he said. 'Till now, we were wearing masks ourselves, following social distancing, now we have to inspire others to do all this.
We have to make this campaign as a mass movement,' he said. Mr Kejriwal had on Sunday reserved nCov beds in hospitals run by the state government and private hospitals for Delhi residents till the pandemic subsides. Overruling the Delhi Government's decision, Mr Baijal on Monday issued an order stating that hospitals will treat Covid patients irrespective of their residential addresses. 'Departments and authorities concerned of NCT of Delhi ensure that treatment is not denied to any patient on the ground of not being a resident of Delhi,' Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, who is also the Chairman of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), said in the order.
