New Delhi, Jun 8 : Terming the matter relating to appointment of 69,000 teachers in UP's Basic Education department as the "Vyapam scam of Uttar Pradesh", Congress leader and AICC General secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday said injustice should not be done to hard working youth. In a series of tweets, Mr Vadra said, ''The scam related to recruitment of 69,000 teachers is UP's Vyapam scam.
The facts of irregularities in this matter are not normal. Names of students in diaries, involvement of racket, transaction of money, irregularities in examination centres shows that the scam has links in a lot of places." She said that injustice should not be done to hard working youth. If the government does not give justice, its reply will be given with agitation". The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday stayed the appointment of 69,000 assistant basic teachers in the state.
The court said that there has been an 'error' in the evaluation of the question paper. The Lucknow bench of Justice Alok Mathur, on June 3, had stayed the selection process. The court said that prima facie certain questions and answers were 'ambiguous and wrong' and, hence, it required fresh scrutiny by the UGC. The recruitment examination was held on January 6, 2019 and its result was declared on May 12 this year. (UNI)
