New Delhi, Jun 5 : On the occasion of World Environment Day, East Delhi Mayor, Anju Kamalkant on Friday planted saplings in the compound of EDMC Headquarters Udyog Sadan at Patparganj.
Standing Committee Chairman, Sandeep Kapoor; Leader of House, Nirmal Jain; chairman of Horticulture committee , Jugnu Chaudhary; Additional Commissioner Vijay Bidhuri; and other officials were also present at the event and planted trees.
Ms Kamalkant said World Environment Day is a reminder to the world that more rigorous efforts are needed to reverse the harm done by humankind to earth. She said that planting a tree is one of the easiest and simplest steps one can take to help curb climate change. Ms Anju said that nurturing a tree is as important as planting it. (UNI)
