New Delhi, May 30 : Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the completion of the historic and unprecedented one year of his government, BJP president J P Nadda said there has been change in political culture and some bold decisions have been taken.
'When Mr Modi took over, all systems were paralysed. There has been change in political culture and governance changed to bring about results and momentum,' Mr Nadda said in his press conference. Bold decisions have been taken during the first year of Modi government's second term, he maintained. 'Articles 370 and 35A were repealed from Jammu and Kashmir.
This was a result of the strong will of the Prime Minister and our Home Minister Amit Shah became the architect of this,' he said. He said the Citizenship Amendment bill was hanging fire for years, adding that refugees suffering from religious persecution from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan should have got citizenship but this could not be done. The CAA was enacted because of the bold decision making of the Modi government, he maintained.
He said,' India has handled itself well during Covid crisis and under the leadership of the Prime Minister, we are moving towards a self-reliant India. Today we are moving forward with the mantra of Swadeshi and self-reliance.' In comparison to other countries, India fought the battle against Corona under the leadership of Mr Modi in such a way that India's position has improved, he pointed out. (UNI)
