New Delhi, May 21 : The government will now conduct a public awareness campaign through community radio on how to prevent coronavirus. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar will address around 300 community radios simultaneously in the country on Friday and will discuss measures to prevent the corona epidemic.
Mr Javadekar will address the audience in Hindi and English. This is the first unique initiative in which such a programme is being organised and addressed to the audience simultaneously on all community radio. Significantly, community radio offers programmes to the audience in a radius of about 15 km, thus, benefitting a population of about one lakh. In his address, Mr Javedkar will also emphasise on the promotion of community radio and will also discuss how to make this radio profitable. (UNI)
