New Delhi, May 14 : The Indian Railway on Thursday said it will refund all passengers, who booked tickets on the trains that have been cancelled for the period up to June 30, 2020. ''All the tickets booked for trains for the period up to June 30, 2020 may be cancelled and full refund generated as per provisions,'' the Railways said in an order.
Earlier in the day, the Railways announced that all the tickets booked for travel before June 30 in regular passenger services, including Mail/ Express, passenger and suburban services will be cancelled till further advice. However, the Shramik trains that bring migrant workers to home from various states of the country due to the COVID-induced lockdown, will run and the special train services, started from May 12, will also continue to operate.
The Railways has also announced that there shall be no Reservation against Cancellation (RAC) in special trains. They also said that waiting list tickets for special trains will be available for bookings opening on May 15 for journeys starting from May 22. However, the waiting list on the trains has been limited; up to 100 for AC 3 Tier, 50 for AC 2 Tier, 200 for Sleeper Class, 100 for Chair Cars and 20 each for First AC and Executive Class, they added.
