New Delhi, May 13: Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of Rs 20 lakh crore consolidated economic package during his address to the nation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that this special package aims at strengthening the poor, farmers, middle class and business community so that country becomes self reliant.
"Prime Minister Modi has appealed to the countrymen to take a resolution to use local products as much as possible and also make these locals as global. When everything was shut down during this unprecedented period, these local products helped us a lot,'' Mr Shah said. In a series of tweets, the Home Minister said that during this challenging time, India has not only handled itself with determination but also helped the whole world and that has changed the world's approach towards India.
''Exhorting that 21st century to be the century of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that now the time has come to translate it in reality and this would be possible only by 130 crore Indians’ resolution for ‘Self- reliant India’. Now we have to take a pledge that a Self- reliant India will lead the world,'' Shah said. ''Under the visionary leadership of Modi ji, now every Indian needs to take a pledge to contribute to make India Self-reliant as the welfare of whole world lies in India's self –reliance,'' Shah added. He also said that while fighting the corona mayhem, India, under leader the leadership of the Prime Minister, has given a new direction to the whole world. (UNI)
