New Delhi, May 11 : The Union Ministries for Home Affairs and Railways on Monday assured all the States and Union Territories that sufficient numbers of trains would be running for migrants workers, wishing to go home.
In a review meeting with state nodal officers to facilitate faster movement of stranded workers to their native places via video-conferencing, senior officials of Home and Railway Ministries emphasised that migrant labourers should be reassured that sufficient numbers of trains would be run for their travel. More than a hundred trains are expected to run daily for the next few weeks to facilitate faster movement of stranded workers to their native places.
While several issues were discussed and redressed during the review meeting, the nodal officers of both the Ministries said that more than 450 trains carrying several lakh migrant workers have been operated and now, over 100 trains would run daily to carry every Migrant wishing to go home. (UNI)
