India marching ahead in science under Modi's leadership: Shah

New Delhi, May 11 : On the occasion of National Technology Day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, under whom he said the nation was continuously marching ahead as a global leader in the field of science and innovation.

"Today, the New India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership is continuously marching ahead as a global leader in the field of science & innovation", he wrote on twitter. He further said that the country had made a giant leap in the year of 1998, on this very day, by successfully carrying out nuclear tests under the leadership of late prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. India every year on May 11 celebrates the National Technology Day to commemorate the unparalleled achievements of the science fraternity.

The day was named by the late Vajpayee on May 11 as a reminder of India's technological achievements. Mr Shah, in his twitter missive, also lauded the scientists and engineers. "On National Technology Day, we salute the relentless efforts of our scientists and engineers to keep Indian flag flying high", he said. (UNI)
