Pune, May 10 : Squally weather is very likely to prevail over Comorin (Kanyakumari), Lakshadweep and Maldives area, fishermen should not venture into these areas during next 24 hours, forecast the India Meteorological Department today.

It further said that heavy rainfall is very likely to lash isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe during the period. Thunderstorms, accompanied with lightning and squall (with speed reaching up to 50-60 km per hour), are likely at isolated sites over Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh during the period.

Thunderstorms, accompanied with lightning, are likely at isolated chunks over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rayalaseema, Konkan and Goa during the period.

Dust storms or thunderstorms, accompanied with hail and gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph), are very likely at isolated pockets over east Rajasthan during the period.

Duststorms or thunderstorms, accompanied with gusty winds (speed 40-50 kmph), are likely at isolated sections over west Rajasthan during the period. Thunderstorm had occurred at isolated portions over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, GilgitBaltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, north Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe during past 24 hours. Rain or thundershowers had occurred at many zones in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir during the period. They had also occurred at a few divisions in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Telangana, coastal & north Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep during the period. Isolated areas in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and south Interior Karnataka also received rains during the period.
