Former PM Dr Manmohan Singh has been admitted on Sunday to AIIMS cardio-thoracic ward in New Delhi following congestion in his chest. He is being kept under observation.
Sources close to former PM said that there is nothing to worry. He is under the care of Dr. Nitish Naik, a Professor of Cardiology at AIIMS New Delhi. Details are awaited.
After joining the Government of India as Economic Advisor in the Commerce Ministry in 1971, he served as Finance Minister in the P.V. Narasimha Rao ministry from 1991-1996. He became prime minister of India 2004 and served the country for two terms. He is a member of the upper house of parliament at present.
