New Delhi, May 8 : The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Friday sought a detailed action taken report from Haryana police after a migrant woman was allegedly gangraped by two people in Hisar district earlier this month. Expressing concern over the safety and security of women, NCW said despite the enactment of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 2013, crimes against women continue to occur.
The commission has written to Manoj Yadava, Director General of Police, Haryana with a copy to Superintendent of Police in Hisar, for a detailed action taken report to be sent to the commission at earliest," the NCW said in a statement here.
It was reacting to media reports of the alleged gang-rape of a migrant woman by two people in a village in Hisar on May 2. Police have registered a case and started the probe, the report said. (UNI)
