Air India aircraft with stranded Indians from Singapore reaches Delhi

New Delhi, May 8 : Air India special aircraft carrying Indians from Singapore reached Delhi on Friday under the 'Vande Bharat' mission, launched to evacuate people stuck abroad.

Air India's flight number AI-381 was the third flight of the Vande Bharat Mission. On Thursday, a flight of Air India Express from Kochi and one from Abu Dhabi reached Kozhikode. A total of 363 Indians, including nine sailors, were brought home. In a tweet, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri appreciated the response to the call of duty and determination of the crew. 'Even in these extraordinary times, their response to the call of duty & the determination of this AirIndia Express crew on the Abu Dhabi-Cochin flight, is exemplary. Kudos to their spirit & dedication', he said. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also thanked Air India, Bureau of Immigration and the Delhi Government for cooperation and support.

'Flight no. AI381 from Singapore has landed in Delhi. Welcome home,' his missive said. (UNI)
