New Delhi, May 6: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Tuesday said that as many as 45 ITBP personnel were tested positive for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Among them, 43 infected personnel are from Tigri-based unit at New Delhi, who have been deployed for internal security duties and two of them have been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital while 41 have been admitted to the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) Referral Hospital at , Greater Noida. As many as 76 personnel of the Tigri unit have been quarantined at ITBP Chhawla Facility, New Delhi.
Rest two troopers have been admitted to AIIMS, Jhajjar in Haryana. The Force has actively done the ‘contact tracing is being done and so far 91 personnel of this Company are place under quarantine at ITBP quarantine facility, Chhawla here where the sampling has been done and reports are awaited. ITBP has started treating the Corona positive personnel at 200-bedded CAPF Referral Hospital based in Greater Noida. This hospital is now dedicated to corona patients only. Personnel from all Central Armed Police Forces have also been admitted in this Hospital.
Currently, 52 have been admitted from the ITBP and BSF (44 from ITBP and 8 from BSF) at the Referral Hospital. Excellent team of specialist doctors is treating our jawans 24×7 as per medical protocol. They are well equipped with the PPEs and other required equipment. Contact tracing is in progress and all jawans coming into contact of affected personnel are being put into the quarantine facilities, the ITBP said. (UNI)
