New Delhi, May 5 : The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday said that 'multiple entry long term visa' given to Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) will be kept under suspension, till further orders.
An order issued by the Foreigners Division of MHA on May 5 said that the long term life long visa or multiple entry visa granted to OCI will be kept in abeyance till the prohibition on international air travel of passengers from or to India is lifted by the Government of India.
''Any foreign national holding an OCI card, who intends to travel to India for compelling reasons during this period, may contact the nearest Indian Mission”, the MHA order read. In case of persons holding OCI card, who are already in India, the card shall remain valid for their stay in India for any length of time, the MHA further said. The Indian Government has suspended air travel from or to India, in order to curb the COVID19 outbreak on March 20. (UNI)
