Squally weather likely over southeast Bay of Bengal in next 24 hours

Pune, May 1: Squally winds, with speed reaching up to 40-50 km per hour and gusting up to 60 kmph, are likely to blow over southeast Bay of Bengal, as a result, sea condition will be rough to very rough over north Sumatra coast, south Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal, therefore, fishermen should not venture into these expanse during next 24 hours, warned the India Meteorological Department today.

It forecast that thunderstorm, accompanied with lightning and squall (speed 50-60 km per hour), is very likely at isolated regions over Bihar during the period. Thunderstorm, accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph), is likely at isolated portions over Odisha, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarkhand, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, south Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe during the period.(UNI)
