New Delhi, Apr 23: The government will use the opportunity created by the COVID-19 to implement "large scale reforms" in the economy, Principal Economic Advisor, Sanjeev Sanyal said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a video conference on April 27 with Chief Ministers and review the future plan of action after the current stage of lockdown that ends on May 3. Sanyal, during a video conference with Phd Chamber of Commerce and industry on Wednesday, said that a number of sectors of the economy will be open after May 3.
"India should see it as an opportunity not just to rebuild ourselves, but also participate in the rebuilding of this new world,", Sanyal asserted. He said that the government is preparing calibrated measures to take care of the economy in view of COVID-19 outbreak.
The government, too, in a bid to tackle the loss of livelihood, cleared significant investments to the tune of Rs 15,000 crore for 'India COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package'. (UNI)
