New Delhi, Apr 20: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla resumed work LS Secretariat amid extensive social distancing protocols on Monday and lauded the tremendous willpower and efforts of Corona warriors.
Birla resumed functioning at the Lok Sabha Secretariat in line with the advisory issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, regarding resumption of work in Central Government offices by April 20 alongside, the nationwide lockdown put in place till May 3 to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Birla said that India has been reasonably successful in its efforts to contain the spread of this virus and that with the cooperation of the people the nation will be able to defeat this disease. He said the Lok Sabha Secretariat was in touch with all Members of Parliament, who in turn are leading efforts within their constituencies to spread awareness about the disease and to ensure that people are taking all the requisite precautions related to social distancing. Referring to the tremendous willpower and efforts of COVID-19 warriors in containing the deadly pandemic, Birla urged the people to extend respect to them.(UNI)
