New Delhi, Apr 20: Tablighi Jamaat's chief Maulana Saad has agreed upon getting himself tested for COVID 19 after completing the quarantine period.

Talking to media, Maulana's lawyer Fuzail Ahmad Ayyubi on Monday said that the crime branch of Delhi Police which is probing the Tablighi Jamaat Markaz matter has suggested for the COVID test. As per the advice by the team, the Maulana's test for COVID will be done soon and the report will be made public.

Maulana's lawyer alleged that there is rumor mongering going on in the media against Maulana in a bid to tarnish his image, whereas in real there is no objection from Maulana's side regarding the probe and he has so far not given any such statement wherein he has intended to escape from probe. He further said that the police have filed the FIR regarding the Jamaat matter and the probe is going on, and therefore any rumors during the probe and giving a bad name is something not at all right.

He said that Maulana Saad is the global chief of Jamaat and has a global reputation, therefore everyone should wait before commenting anything till the probe report is out. He further said that all the questions asked by the police as part of the probe have been answered and furthermore whatever co-operation is required in the probe by the police will be extended, he added.
