India entered day three of the 21-day lockdown on Friday with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reporting as many as 694 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus.
The infection has claimed 16 deaths in India with authorities recording five casualties owing to Covid-19 on Thursday, the same day the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed its first novel coronavirus-related death. Another one dead in Rajasthan's Bhilwara.
Out of these 694 Covid19 cases, as many as 633 were active cases, while 44 people treated and discharged. Maharashtra has reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases so far at 124, including three foreign nationals, followed by Kerala, where the number of cases has climbed up to 118, including eight foreign nationals, according to the ministry data.
