MHA asks CSs & DGPs of states to contain rumours about shortage of essential services & commodities

New Delhi, Mar 25 : Uion Home Ministry has asked all Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police of all States and Union Territories, including Delhi Police Commissioner, to contain possible romour mongering about shortage of essential services and commodities in their respective states during ongoing 21-day nationwide lockdown.

The Home Ministry asked to all States and Union Territories to take necessary steps to suitably publicise through all available means that food, medical, and civil supplies and other essential services would have been maintained and there are adequate supplies available in the country. It is also requested that provisions of the Guidelines issued in this regard on the measures to be taken for containment of COVID 19 epidemic in the country as annexure to MHA Order No. 40- 3/2020-0 dated March 24 may be suitably disseminated amongst the public.

All measures may be taken to allay apprehensions and maintain peace and tranquility, the MHA advisory to the States and UTs said. (UNI)
