Rajya Sabha returns J&K Appropriation Bills to Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Mar 23: Rajya Sabha on Monday returned the four Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation Bills to the Lok Sabha. The Bills were returned to the Lok Sabha with voice vote after a debate of over two hours. While replying the debate on this Bill, the Minister of States for Finance Anurag Thakur said that the House has approved the Bill for the budget of Rs 1-lakh crore for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for 2020-21.

He said that there has been an increase in the growth and development of the Jammu and Kashmir in all sphere after the abrogation of Article 370. “Be it the apple export, horticulture or agriculture, there has been an increase in production and apple export has also been the same as it was in 2019,” Thakur added. He also said that under the new administrative structure after August 2019, there has been a growth in GST, excise duty, stamp duty, banking transactions in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that no loss has been seen in micro-terms in last five months.(UNI)
