No domestic flights in India from March 25

The Union government on Monday said that all domestic flights will operate from Wednesday March 25 to contain the spread of coronavirus outbreak.

As per the decision, the Airlines have to stop operations by 12 pm on Tuesday, the government said. Afterwards, only cargo flights will be allowed. Earlier on Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee had sent a letter requesting the government to stop all domestic flights immediately to stem the outbreak of coronavirus.

International flights had already been banned for a week from March 22. The new announcement of the government came as the number of coronavirus cases rose to 415 on Monday.
