Petrol bomb hurled near Shaheen Bagh, none injured

New Delhi, Mar 22 : A petrol bomb was hurled near the police barricade at Shaheen Bagh protest site, here on Sunday morning. According to sources, the incident took place at around 0930 hrs, when some unknown person hurled a petrol bomb near the police barricade. However, there was no injury to any person. Later, a similar incident was reported from near Jamia University, where also, the petrol bomb did not hurt anyone.

The protestors have informed the police, who recovered the bottles from the site. The matter is being probed and police is investigating from all angles. The CCTV footage is also being analysed, said the sources. Meanwhile, the protestors at Shaheen Bagh are still continuing with their agitation, while the whole country is observing the Janta Curfew, called in by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in view of Novel Coronavirus prevention.

Police have earlier met the protestors, advising them to call off the agitation, in view of the COVID 19 outbreak, however, the protestors are yet to call off their demonstration. Such meeting was also held on Saturday, when there were differences of opinions among the protestors, the sources added. (UNI)
