New Delhi, Mar 20: Hailing the early morning hanging of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya case at Tihar Jail after a more than seven year delay, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that justice has prevailed.
In a post on social media, the Prime Minister stressed on the need to build a nation where the focus is on women empowerment.
'Justice has prevailed. It is of utmost importance to ensure dignity and safety of women. Our Nari Shakti has excelled in every field.
Together, we have to build a nation where the focus is on women empowerment, where there is emphasis on equality and opportunity,' Mr Modi said.
The four convicts in the Nirbhaya gangrape case were hanged at 0530 hours in Tihar Jail. (UNI)
