New Delhi, Mar 13 : Aam Aadmi Party member Bhagwant Mann on Friday emphasised on the need to provide good education to uplift the socially-deprived lot.
Speaking during the debate in the Lok Sabha on the Demands for Grants under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for 2020-21, Mr Mann said only quality education can alleviate poverty and the socially-deprived lot of the community. He stressed that financial disorder in the society should be rectified.
K Suresh of Congress said the government has allocated only 0.8 per cent for Dalit women and 0.3 per cent for tribal women. Pointing out the gap in the society, he said almost one out of every three government schools make Dalit children sit separately.
Nama Nageshwar Rao of TRS spoke about the welfare schemes carried out by the state government in Telangana. Dr Sanghamitra Maurya of BJP charged that atrocities on Dalits and backwards classes were being carried out in Congress-ruled states.(UNI)
