Farooq Abdullah’s house arrest revoked

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered to release the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference(NC) leader Farooq Abdullah from detention.

Based on the order, Farooq Abudullah has been released after 7 months of detention. He was in detention since August 5, the day Union Government revoked the special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Several mainstream leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, including Farooq Abdullah’s son Omar Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti are under detention following the abrogation of Article 370.
