New Delhi, mar 3 : Putting at rest all speculation that he is quitting the world of social media, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that on International Women’s Day on March 8 he would give away his social media accounts to women whose lives inspire millions to motivate others.
"This Women's Day (March 8), I will give away my social media accounts to women whose life & work inspire us. This will help them ignite motivation in millions,’ said the PM in a tweet. "Are you such a woman or do you know such inspiring women? Share such stories using #SheInspiresUs," the PM said.
Select entries will get a chance to take-over Prime Minister’s official social media accounts to enable them to share their thoughts and ideas with the world, the social media post added. The PM's latest tweet makes it clear that he would take a sabbatical from his accounts for the day only. On Monday Modi had tweeted: ‘’This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. Will keep you all posted.’’
The tweet set off speculation that he was quitting the social media after the recent menace of fake news on these platforms. The Prime Minister is one of the most-followed world leaders on social media with 53.3 million followers on Twitter, 44 million on Facebook and 35.2 million on Instagram. (UNI)
