New Delhi, Feb 11 : Thanking the people of national capital for handing an emphatic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday said the people have honoured the five years of work of AAP, and it's initiative in the field of education. As the trends indicated a landslide victory of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sisodia said, "Heartily thankful to Delhi. For honouring five years of work, for honouring education.
"True nationalism is to give good education to all the children of the country while remaining in power." Sisodia is leading by 3207 votes from Patparganj Assembly constituency against BJP's Ravinder Singh Negi.
The AAP government had launched the Higher Education and Skill Development Guarantee Scheme, under which students of Delhi could avail a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh without any collateral. It also increased spending on education and healthcare in its Budgets and regulated fees charged by private schools. The Arvind Kejriwal led AAP won 34 seats and leading in 29 seats, while the BJP won in three seats and leading in four seats. (UNI)
